Experienced Frenchmen started his career in 1999, while the first international success came in 2006, when he won French round of the ERC season, and finished fifth in championship standings. International success was continued by three Polish championship titles in 2007-2009, followed by a title in his native France in 2010.

2011 came with a glorious victory in Rally Monte Carlo, which was a round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. 2012 saw a change of priorities, as driver started mostly in France. Though, 2013 was a completely different story, as geography of the rallies widened. Bouffier started in four rounds of World Rally Championship, as well as in six rounds of ERC. ERC came with a success, as Bouffier finished second in overall standings, losing only to unbeatable champion Jan Kopecky from ŠKODA MOTORSPORT.

2014 has started with a Ford Fiesta RS WRC start in Rally Monte Carlo. Though, the rally is still under way, the tempo of the driver is good. Three special stages till finish, Bouffier is currently in second place.
